1.Google Pixel 3 XL hands-on in Hong Kong — three days early

A local shop has somehow managed to snag a unit three days before the launch event.With some smartphones, it seems inevitable that the closer the launch date, the more leaky they get. Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 series — due to launch in New York next Tuesday’s — is no exception, and I’m speaking as someone who had just gotten up close and personal with a pixel 3xl earlier today. I borrowed the phone from Hong Kong mobile shop  wah phone digital , which is actually offering this fully-boxed device for a mere HK$15,880 or around US$2,030.

2.Microsoft pulls Windows 10 October 2018 Update after reports of documents being deleted

Microsoft has stopped distributing its latest Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The software giant started rolling out the update during the company’s Surface event earlier this week, Microsoft is now recommending that affected users contact the company directly, and if you’ve manually downloaded the October update then “please don’t install it and wait until new media is available.” 

3.A12 Bionic chip makes iPhone XS nearly as fast as high-end desktop

Apple may have seriously undersold the processing power of the iphone XS.After deep diving into the new A12 chip, which is the world’s first 7nm manufactured processor, Anandtech found that the CPU features some big improvements that make it perform way better than just the 15% boost Apple is advertising. It’s nearly as good as a desktop CPU.

4.Honda’s smart intersection tells drivers what’s around the corner

As the Honda Pilot is about to enter the intersection a specially built HUD (heads-up display) flashes an orangish yellow with an image of an ambulance. Seconds later an actual ambulance that, moments before, the driver could not see barrels though the intersection with its lights on (no sirens). We watch the emergency vehicle drive off and continue through the intersection.

This is a demo of Honda’s smart intersection in Marysville, Ohio (home to a Honda vehicle manufacturing facility). The presentation also alerted the driver when an out-of-view pedestrian was crossing the street while turning right at the intersection and when another driver ran a red light.

5.Siri can now discreetly record if police pull you over
With a new app called Shortcuts, iPhone users can create their own verbal commands to trigger their phones to perform a wide variety of actions – all without needing to press a button or touch the screen.

One quick phrase will discreetly direct your phone to turn down distractions, send an alert to an emergency contact and start recording whenever you’re pulled over by police.

7.Tesla Autopilot drives better than humans, company stats reveal

Tesla vehicles have recorded accident rates that are far better than the U.S. average, according to new data published by the company Friday.

The electric carmaker said owners experienced one accident or crash-like event – defined as near misses – every 3.34 million miles driven during the third quarter when Tesla’s Autopilot semi-autonomous system was engaged. Without Autopilot, Tesla logged one accident or crash-like event per 1.92 million miles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has said a crash occurs on U.S. roads every 492,000 miles, Tesla noted.

10.Qualcomm to invest $400 million in Hyderabad for largest foreign campus

In what is being touted as the biggest investment by a marquee company after the formation of Telangana, Qualcomm will be investing $400 million (Rs 3,000 crore) in setting up its largest campus outside its San Diego headquarters in Hyderabad, IT minister KT Rama Rao’s office said on Saturday.
